Fuzzy teeth...

The past week or two I have had fuzzy teeth.  I brush them in the morning and at night, but now by the afternoon they feel coated (fuzzy) and I need to throw in an extra burshing when I get home from school.  Anyone else with fuzzy teeth?

Re: Fuzzy teeth...

  • certain bacteria thrive on hormones that we produce when we are pregnant. making them multiply and build up faster to create a biofilm of plaque.

  • yes, that was one of the first things I noticed after my BFP.  One of my baby books says it has something to do with hormonal changes increasing the amount of plaque we get.  blech.

Oooooookay doctor... lol! You sound so professional Smile. Very interesting. I haven't had the fuzzys, and I am hoping it stays away from me; leave my teeth alone!

  • I keep those wisp things in my purse. Not quite the same as brushing, but if you're not at home, it helps.

Nice... is there anything else (other than brushing/flossing) I can do to help this?  Most days I chew gum at the end of the day, it seems to help.

  • I won't lie, before I got PG I never used to floss but now I make it a point to do so at least every other day to help prevent cavities and keep my mouth from getting funky :P  I don't know if it will help any with the fuzzy teeth but it couldn't hurt.
  • Gum is good, especially with xylitol, it kills bacteria. I think trident gum has some in it, or if you go to a whole foods they have spry gum which has 100% xylitol in it.

Fluoride rinses are good too, because they prevent cavities, especially if you have a  lot of m/s and tend to throw up often.

Other than that, just disrupting the bacteria is best with a tooth brush. Sounds weird but if I don't have a toothbrush with me I grab a paper towel and I use that to wipe "fuzzies" off my teeth.
