I'm making some napkins for holiday gifts and I'm debating the best way to go about putting them together. I got a beautiful napkin from Glad with my holiday ornament - hers was turned and topstitched - and had a really nice soft fabric on one side and the print on the other. I couldn't find nice soft fabric that I liked, and that matched, and that was affordable to make all the napkins I want to make, so I just got a solid matching cotton to match the print cotton.
So now I'm wondering if I should t+t them or just lay the two pieces together and stitch them as if they were one piece like this:
The print will be on top and the solid will be on the bottom (instead of just the back of the print fabric like it is in this one ply napkin).
What do you think???
Re: Sewers - if you were making this project, WWYD?
i'd T&T if you're using 2 layers. I would not trust my layers to stay perfectly aligned.
That said, I don't have a problem with 1-ply napkins, as pictured.
