One more question, did any of you still feel pregnant although you were told you were miscarrying and had several symptoms that you were (i.e. red bleeding, passing blood clots, HCG level rising but not decreasing, no fetal pole found on U/S @ 5 weeks, etc)?
The odd thing is, I never really felt pregnant, just really tired and tender breasts. Those symptoms have basically subsided, but I feel like I am starting to get nauseated, but no pain or cramping. Is this another sign of miscarriage?
Re: Feel Pregnant but Miscarrying?
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
I am very sorry for your loss.
I also had a similar situation to yours. I had stopped developing around 5 weeks, but my Dr. called it a Blighted Ovum. I didn't find out this happened until at 11 weeks, though. I still felt all of the pregnancy symptoms, and even do now after two weeks of miscarrying. I still feel nauseas, have certain food aversions and have been very emotional. With my miscarriage I spotted for the first few days, it became like a normal period and then over the weekend had very heavy bleeding. After about a week it stopped entirely and then after about two days started up again even stronger, then went back to spotting after two days or so. I am still spotting. I had my follow-up appointment a few days ago and they said despite the bleeding my body has passed very little and I still have the sac and a large clot surrounding it. I am having a D & C on Tuesday. Like you, my hormones are still staying in the thousands and I am crossing my fingers that this will end soon. This is my story, but everyone is different. The Dr. told me most women will bleed between 1-2 weeks and the flow will vary from time to time. Some women bleed very lightly for only a few days and everything passes, while others bleed very heavily for several and still no sign of stopping. I would just talk to your Dr. if you have any concerns. This is my first miscarriage and the only experience I have personally with this. I do have a friend that has had two chemical pregnancies and she said it was like a normal period, lasted about a week, and was just heavier flow and more intense cramping. I hope that this helps! It sounds like everything you are experiencing is totally normal, though. Just take care of yourself and try to rest your body. Hang in there and we are all here for you!
I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's very frustrating. I had been nauseated from the day of my bfp on and didn't start actually throwing up until the day after my first ultrasound when we knew things weren't looking good (no fetal pole @6w6d). We had the ultrasound because I was spotting and it felt so cruel that my symptoms got worse after that. I continued to feel nauseated until 2 days after my procedure and the sore boobs took about 10 days to go away.
Getting rid of my symptoms fast was the main reason I wanted to have a D&C. My spotting came and went, but I knew it was near enough to pass everything yet and didn't want to wait. Hang in there, I hope it happens naturally for you and it's over quickly. ((HUGS))
