In the past couple of days we've received 2 baby gifts from people who totally did not have to get us anything.  My stepmom's mom sent us baby UGA outfits -- a onesie, pants, a bib, a jacket, and mittens!  We see her once a year at Christmas.  And the lady that grooms our dogs and watches them when we go out of town got us a huge box of diapers!  I was very surprised and touched.  Anyone else received unexpected gifts?

Yeah! Us too... another teacher at work is pregnant with her second, and she's 6 weeks ahead of me (almost at 32 weeks). They had a family shower and got a bouncer thing. They already have one from her first baby, so she gave it to us. She said they didn't want to take it back because they weren't sure where it was from and there was no receipt with it. It's only about $25, so she just gave it to us.

Yes! I work with a girl who has a twin sister, and the twin just had a boy in June. She sent 2 huge bags of baby boy clothes for me that are so cute and barely used! I have only met her once and she totally didn't have to do that. So sweet!!

I've been getting offers to send boxes of cute clothes since people found out we're having a girl.  Also, a good friend of mine told me at lunch  that she is laying claim to spoiling our little girl since all she has is nephews and she really wants to get cute girl things.

I have had a couple of people give me really generous gifts unexpectedly. I have a friend who just had a baby last month, and she ended up with a ton of extra newborn diapers and clothes she didn't need (he was 10 lbs., so he didn't really fit in any of them). She sent us about 5 packages of diapers, as well as 5 or 6 outfits, a blanket, a baby bath and several other items. I also have a coworker who has volunteered her carseat and stroller; I know many say not to get these items used, but they have not been in any accidents and are well within their limits on being used.
