Thanksgiving ? here?s ours
My parents, sister, her boy friend are coming down Thanksgiving Day to my brother?s place, where they?ll be staying till Sunday so we?ll be going over on Friday for our Thanksgiving meal with all of them. SIL well to say the least is preparing that meal for all of us it?ll consist of - a deep-fried turkey, dressing, fresh cranberries relish, rice & gravy, sweet-potato casserole, peas, carrots, homemade rolls, and fresh pumpkin pie with real whipped cream topping. Yummy! She?s one fantastic cook and my best friend.
This year DH?s parents plan on coming in to our place late on Friday evening for a few days. So I plan on having our meal here where all of us (my parents, sister and boy friend, my brother, SIL, as well as the in-laws will be having that meal. So that Saturday morning I plan preparing a honey-glazed baked ham with brown sugar, pineapple rings and cherries. Then to entire meal will consist of - baked ham, candied yams, field peas, collards, fried green tomatoes, corn-bread muffins with honey, and a fresh peach cobbler. If it?s not to cold that day I might even fix a freezer of ice cream or get DH to do that.
As for Christmas Holiday?s ? we?ll discuss those plans while everyone is here.
Re: NBR - What?s your plans ?
We're going to my brother & SIL's...we have family driving in from OK so it'll be fun (11 people).
We typically have the traditional turkey & dressing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, homemade rolls/breads, pecan pies, etc. This year Mom asked me to bring the sweet potato casserole & I found out DH loves the recipes with marshmallows (I typically just do the one with brown sugar, pecans). I may surprise them & bring some baked Brie...I love how you can make pretty designs with pastries. YUMMY!
Holidays are always Dangerous on the belly...and especially since I'm pregnant!
