I think around 3.5-4m. In some ways they sort of interacted before then, but mostly around 4-5m. I mean, they will still do mostly parallel play until they're about 3 but it's definitely more fun when they start interacting with each other.
but get ready because yes, it will be sweet when they smile at each other but be warned that one baby is thinking, "hey, look at that toy that other baby is holding...i want that toy, hehe." two seconds later one baby wont be smiling anymore.

around 4mo mine noticed each other - but actually entertaining each other = a long way off for you
my guys mostly annoy each other now - fighting over toys.... occasionally they will have fun together - mostly when tehy are in their cribs- talking to each other- but when they have access to the same toys it's fighting mostly
Mine started smiling at each other around 3.5 months. If we lay them down beside each other they will smile and laugh for a few minutes but thats about it. They are nowhere near entertaining each other though. I can't wait until they can actually play together.
LOL and ditto Goldie. When they were 10m old I was at a dinner with a bunch of singleton parents who were trying to tell me how lucky I was to have twins because one baby is SO hard since you have to hold and entertain them all the time, so I was lucky to have two since they could just entertain each other (while I sit and eat bonbons, of course). I had to bite my tongue on that one. They're not puppies; they don't entertain each other much at 10 months!
They started noticing each other about where yours are. But, they didn't really interact for a while after that. They are already fighting over toys now. I can't decide if its a blessing or a curse.

The smiling at each other happened last month, but the interacting is just starting now at 5 months. Today Graham was trying to grab and play with Lily's ear. And yesterday Lily sat and sucked Graham's thumb for awhile.
I can't remember for sure. All I know is they are 16 months now and will NOT leave eachother alone with the fighting over toys, pushing, pulling, etc., so I wish I could go back to the days when they didn't even notice eachother! Although they just started kissing eachother godnight and even smiling when they do it. Please god, let this be a start to them getting along...
Re: It's asked all the time....
Mine have just started smiling at each other while is adorable and they will also stare. I am hoping playing and entertaining each other is soon too!
6 mos.
