38 and TTC for the first time...

Hi everyone!

 

I'm a recent newlywed (10-3-10) and just started TTC on the honeymoon.  October it didn't happen and just got AF yesterday so that's 2 months of BFN. 

I think the crazy thing, is that I feel such a terrible pressure to get pregnant as quick as possible.  If it weren't for my age, I'd wait another 2-3 years so I could enjoy time alone with the new hubby. 

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Nice to just be able to relate to others.  All my friends have babies already so I'm the only one left.  It's a weird feeling.

Welcome! I also am a newlywed (6/5/10), 37 and TTC #1.  Just started Cycle 5.  I feel the same as you about the pressure and wish I could enjoy time just being married but it isn't in the cards..   Are you charting?  It's the best way to see if and when you are ovulating.

Yes, I've been charting with an iPhone ap for a year because I wanted to know when I would have my period around my wedding day.  Luckily I finished the day before the wedding.  Thought for sure I'd get pregnant on the honeymoon since it was the fertile time.

I'm on Day 2 of cycle #2 now and look forward to trying again in a couple days :-)  I also have some OPT's to try and get a little more specific.  I've never thought about ovulation before now and I remember having EWCM. This past month though, I didn't have it.  I wonder if I'm ovulating every month or if my age is slowing that process down and I skipped ovulating last month.  Ugh, I dont even want to think about that right now.  Still early days.  

Try so hard to just be all casual about it and "what will be will be" and relax, but as we all know it's a lot easier said than done!

Welcome and good luck! I felt weird with all my friends preggo too but no worries - I got pregnant with my first at 38 and I will be TTC next year at 40!!!!  I lied to the MD and said I was trying for two years so they have me an HSG exam that was painful but I got pregnant the next month.

 It sure is overwhelming when you are older, huh? I feel like age puts so much worry in the equation. I hope your stay here is short!

I am a newlywed to - July 3, 2010.  I feel the same way.  I honestly would like a couple years with my hubby before we TTC, but I just don't think we should wait.  I'm 37 and will be 38 in December. 

I am in my 2ww of our 2nd month trying.

Hi and welcome i was started TTC when 38 also, im 1 year married, 10-02-09, congrats on your wedding!!!

Yes terrible pressure but you are right not waiting, i was the same but was scared into it on our honeymoon!!!

I'm in the same boat.  I'm 38, married 7/17/10 and we've been trying since the wedding.  Currently in the 2ww so we'll see how it turns out.   Glad to know I've got some support.
