Thanksgiving dessert ideas for children

My mom is putting me in charge of making dessert for the kids this year. Does anyone have a recipe or idea for that? Usually she makes Cookies in the shapes of turkeys or something like that.

 

Any ideas?

You mean there's a separate desert for the kids and the adults? Never even considered that before. My kids are pumpkin pie fanatics so I'd probably consider making tiny little individual pies for each child if I wanted them to have something different than the main dessert.

Ditto Cleo.  Well, one eats the whipped cream, the other eats the pie.  But..?  Never heard of that.

THIS! I hate the idea of separate things for kids and adults. My kids always avoid "kid food" and choose "adult food" instead. They have good taste!

Thank you. Didn't realize people were so against this. We have always done a fun dessert. If they want pie they can have pie but if they want a cute turkey cookie then they can. Sheesh.

Have you ever made the Libby's cream cheese pumpkin roll? Its really good, and the kids in our family always seem to go for that over the pies. I slice it down before serving it, and it goes quick! Im making 2 this yr!

At the bakerella site jettagirl got me addicted to, she has the cutest turkey cake pops! I'm considering making them. H has always required a chocolate pie for thanksgiving so the kids eat that too. My kids don't like fruit or pumpkin pies. Even if they did, a fun treat is always nice when you have a lot of kids.

I know ... seriously!  What's the big deal?  Kids like kiddie desserts - go figure.
