So, my niece who is 3 got in *big* trouble with her crayons recently *cough*drawingoneverysurfaceshecouldfind*cough*. (My poor sister.) As a result she's no longer allowed to have crayons.
I was going to make her a crayon roll for Christmas, but now I'm scared that my sister might murder me.
Would a chalk mat be acceptable? Is chalk any better, or would it be a mess?
Linky to one of the many tutorials out there.
I need to call a few stores to see if I can find the chalk cloth.
Re: Practical toddler art question
Chalk is definitely easier to clean up than crayon. S has a full chalk wall in her room and sometimes she's decided the floor needs colored too, but it comes off easily.
Another idea might be to do the crayon roll & get her some of those color wonder markers to go in it instead of crayons. I think either idea would be fun!
That's what she has now. :oD
She was able to color on stuff that wasn't the color wonder paper with the color wonder markers!?! Crap. I think I need to call my mom about what she bought S for Christmas. lol
Oh, no! I meant, that's what my sister replaced her crayons with. So far, so good.
Ooooh ok! Whew. I know my mom bought S the lap pad color wonder thing for the car and I was just envisioning her, her car seat, her clothes, etc. covered in marker. lol
DD has all the color wonder stuff and she has colored on everything with them and nothing has actually been colored.
