how long does it take to get cd3 blood test results?

just curious for those that had cd 3 and cd 21 blood work done, how long does it take to get the results?  i'm trying to figure out if i go for cd 3 blood work next cycle if i'll be able to start clomid by cd 5? 

Or if my progesterone comes back low for my cd 21 blood work do you think my ob would prescribe clomid for me for the next cycle before my cd 3 blood work is done?  (i'm getting my cd 21 blood work done first during this cycle)

I get my results the same day, late afternoon for morning draws. I go to an RE and I start meds on cd3 though

My blood work took about a week because for my insurance it is mailed out.  I am not sure if the RE will have me to get the blood work done somewhere else.  I was already prescribed clomid.  I go in this next cycle on CD 3.  I am not sure if they will do bloodwork then or not.  I know that I will be on something other than clomid this cycle though.

Best of luck to you!! I hope you're lucky and get them back the same day. My OB wants some CD3 bw too, she mentioned nothing about CD21 bw... just an ultrasound.

I was never given my CD3 or 7dpo b/w until I was at the start of the next cycle.  But, I would think you'd have it at least by the next day, if not the same day you had it done, depending if you had it done in your dr's office or not.  Has your dr talked to you about an HSG or an SA for your DH?  I know you suspect low progesterone but I would still ask about these two things, because if there is another issue, clomid might not help.

For my iui cycle they don't worry about progesterone until a couple days after you ovulate, you can still have low progesterone in a cycle that you take clomid so I don't think you have to worry about that result preventing you from moving forward.  The RE gets my blood work the same day, so for instance this morning I got b/w and an u/s with instructions to start clomid on sunday on day 5 unless I hear from them. Oh and you can do the cd b/w on day 2 which you might want to ask about so that you get more time.

I had my A.M. b/w results by the PM unless I had a follow up appt scheduled.  I would be pro-active and give them a call and find out what their plan is.  If you can start right away that would be so much better then waiting another cycle.  GL!!

i'm getting my bw done at Quest.  when i had other bw done i usually got a call from my ob the next day so hopefully that's how this will work too. 

My ob didn't mention anything at all about an HSG or SA for DH.  she said i can obviously get pg. since i've been pg. 3x's so she thinks my tubes are clear and she said obviously DH has sperm so maybe i just need a little nudge to get things moving in the right direction, which i guess is why she thinks clomid would do the trick for me. 

I'd really like DH to get a SA done too.

oh that's interesting that you can have b/w done on cd 2 too.  If they call me w/ the results of the cd 21 bw i'm going to ask about all this.  i really don't want to waste another cycle b/c i'm waiting for cd 3 bw.  i just want to start clomid.

I always get mine back on the same day too.

At my RE's office they usually give me my prescription on cd3 when I go in for the b/w.  I assume if there was a problem they would call and tell me not to take it that day, but that hasn't happened yet.  Since you are with an OB though I bet she would give it to before that.  GL!

she said she didn't want to start clomid until i get tested so i'm hoping the cd 21 bw is enough for her to say, ok we can start clomid next cycle.  but she may wait till i get my cd 3 bw done and then i'm worried i'd have to wait an entire other cycle just to start.

I use Quest too. They have to mail the samples so I doubt they will have same day results. Can you use anoth lab or is Quest the only lab that your insurance will cover?.

I get results the same day. They usually make you go early for bloodwork and have answers early afternoon.
