The dog barks like a maniac, the boys scream, "Daddy!" and go running for the door to the garage, then they all throw themselves at him like he's been gone ten years. Then they'll ignore me for about five minutes, and it's back to normal with everyone climbing all over Mommy.

I wish. Parker barely recognizes that he's walked in the door. Rowan smiles and likes to be picked up for a minute or two.
Both those girls know where their bread is buttered...me!
lol @ bread. Too funny.
This is our case here too. Gisele yells, DADDY. and that is about it. Kinda sad because he loves playing with her.
It is getting a little better now that the baby has come because DH takes her out for a fun adventure after work now- so i can nurse the baby in peace. Adventure is usually going to the pet store or book store.
DD runs to the door yelling "Daddy" with a big hug and giggles! It is so cute!
She usually plays with him while I finish dinner and he gets her ready for bed while I do the dishes. On a normal day, DD and DH are attached at the hip from 6pm - 8pm.
She yells "SURPRISE" every night he walks in the door. She'll ask "How was your day?" DH does our older DD's bedtime routine, so they have an hour or so together every night. I can't wait for 6 mo or so when he'll get both and I get to sit and unwind.
"Daddy daddy daddy!" Yeah, it's all about him when he comes home from work. I tell him to enjoy it now because it won't be long before DD hates both of us.
Dh walks in, ds says, "Hi guys" (that's his normal greeting for everyone right now). He gets excited for a bit but the second I get up to do something, ds is all over me again.

DH walks in and says, "Where's that family?" DD breaks into a huge grin (I totally egg her on) and wants Daddy. I'm fine with it. It gives me a break for a while, and it makes DH happy that she hasn't forgotten who he is.
She's currently going through a phase where she says "Oh, no, the daddy monster is home, I have to hide!" and she hides and waits for him to find her. Then it's hugs and kisses and they play while I finish getting dinner on the table.
It depends on they day and what kind of phase she's going through. She almost always run to the front door, along side the dog, to greet him. After a hug, she'll usually ask for me. If she's not in a "mommy phase", then she'll hang out with him for a while. :-)
On our way to 3 under 4!

Baby Boy Due This Summer!
Yelling, running and giggles as they run (or crawl) to the door. It's so cute. I'm chopped liver with the older one for sure, but my baby eventually wants to come back to me. I LOVE that they get so excited to see him so I start prepping them by saying...daddy's on his way home and looking and acting all excited. I mean who doesn't love that kind of welcome? I'm glad he plays so well with them because it gives me a nice break.

I do the same. It is pretty cute. I know my H melts a little bit every time he gets such an enthusiastic welcome home.
When we hear the key turn in the lock, Miles runs for the door yelling "Dadadadadada" like crazy. Hubby dumps his things on the floor and scoops up Miles for some snuggles. Usually, at that point, Miles points to me and that's my cue to join them for a family hug before the boys go off on their own to play while I make dinner. It's often the best moment of my day.

As soon as she hears the garage door she does this little weird jump like she's been shocked then starts walking towards the door saying, DADADADADADA.' DH scoops her up and they are off. DD is with him for the rest of the night. I am on my own for awhile. It is awesome.
They both run to the door as soon as they hear it open and DH gets big hugs and kisses(they do this when he comes home for lunch also). They are all about daddy for an hour or so and then it is back to "Mommy, mommy, mommy."
I am chopped liver also. I don't mind though because DH loves it and I get the same greeting when I pick her up from the gym child care.
As soon as we hear the garage door open I ask her "Who is here?" She will sit there looking at the door until DH walks through and then DD will take off crawling for him yelling "Dadadada" all the way over to him.
