My mw's told me to eat my breakfast, but I don't know, I'm sure it depends on your practitioner. Good luck tomorrow, I am getting induced tomorrow too.
I know it'd be wiser TO eat before.. but seriously DON'T.
I was SOOO hungry so I broke the rules and ate a little mcdonalds when the nurses weren't around. (I hadn't eaten at all that day and it was a surprise induction after a BPP) and boy do i regret it! I puked all through labor.. and the nurses were like "uhmm what's coming up? i thought you hadn't eaten all day?" whoops..
I was induced with DS and my suggestion is to eat very late the night before. The nurses at the hospital will not let you eat the morning of. As far as throwing up, I dry heaved during labor because being on an empty stomach and pumped full of drugs made me so nauseated. So you might hrow up regardless of when your last meal was.
I would suggest eating something small/light. I had a protein bar the morning of both of my inductions. I didn't have any problems with nausea/vomiting, but everyone is different and I don't think it matters if you've eaten or not. I could only have clear liquids once in labor and ended up eating a lot of jello and drinking quite a bit of apple juice/water when in labor with DD.
Definitely eat, but make it something light. Not McDonalds or pizza. I actually had enchiladas right before my induction and never had a problem, but you should play it safe. Also, I went in at night (8PM) but pitocin and real labor didn't start until 5 AM the next morning, so that may have had something to do with it. Once I checked into the hospital, I was only allowed to have jello, water, and beef/chicken broth.
I will also add that not only did the hospital not want me to eat the morning of my induction, but I was also not allowed anything but ice cbips during labor. I was dying of thirst, and wasn't even allowed a glass of water. No jello, candies, ice pops, etc.
I ate at home before induction with DD. I was even allowed to eat light at hospital during induction. I ate pretzels. I thought I might throw up at one point but didn't
