Its time again for our weekly check-in. This check-in is for anyone dealing with clotting disorders, or for anyone doing once or twice daily shots of Lovenox, Heparin, Fragmin, Arixtra, etc. (you are also welcome if you are on any other blood thinners - coumadin, aspirin, etc.) This is a place for us to share our frustrations, worries and triumphs. What?s new this week? How is everyone feeling? How are your bruises? Any injection tips for the newbies?

QOTW: I will not be posting a check-in next week. I am having 15 people over for Thanksgiving so will be a bit busy So in honor of Thanksgiving, this week's QOTW is...What are you thankful for?
Re: **Weekly Lovenox Ladies Check-in**
Thankful to be having a happy, healthy pregnancy. I know that the troubles getting here have made me more aware of how easy I'm having it right now.
I'm also thankful to have a supervisor that is super laid-back as far as time off and alternate work schedules go. I went in to pitch a Tues-Fri schedule for the month of January instead my normal Mon - Thurs to allow me to have weekly appointments without taking any time off and he took no convincing at all.

Wow! I was looking for others that have to take these shots too!
I am due April 22, I am taking them b/c I have Lupus, RA & Raynuads.
I'm thankful that I have family so helpful and so close to me. They've been great helping me rest after my PE and taking care of my son. It'll also make things easier when I return to work next week.
I'm also thankful for such a supportive Managing Director who has been awesome and wants to make sure I do everything I can to rest and go through this pregnancy and recovery healthy.
This is, of course, in addition to the things I have with me daily... my family, my home, my job, and our health.
ETA: HAPPY THANKSGIVING LADIES! HAVE A GREAT ONE
Hello-
Started Lovenox shots (2x daily) last Friday after a 5 day stay in the hospital after finding a DVT the full length of my leg. No history or family issues (that we are aware of yet). Shots are going OK-not pleasant, but doable. They will switch me to Heparin (3x daily) at 34-36 weeks and will induce by 39. (Actual due date is June 6).
I just moved to a new state and don't know anyone in the area. I am thankful to have some support from others going through similar experiences in an environment such as this. This is one thing I never even considered worrying about!
Hope all have a wonderful thanksgiving!
QOTW: I am thankful for my beautiful, healthy DD and for this baby. I am thankful that my Dr this time around is much more knowledgeable and I am on Arixtra much earlier. At 6 weeks last time I had spotting and at 7 weeks full period like blood. This time around I am 7 weeks and as far as I can tell everything is great! My first U/S is Wednesday!
My shots are going well. Almost 4 weeks and only one bruise but many many painful injections. I am trying to keep positive but not looking forward to doing this for such a long time again

My due date is up for some debate (apparently I ovulated again after my LMP), but we think around July 11, 2011.
I started Lovenox last week (twice a day). I had bilateral PEs and was diagnosed with anticardiolipin antibody a few years ago.
I didn't remember the shot stinging so much! I have been applying ice for about a minute before my injection and that takes care of almost all the discomfort. I have support groups like this one to thank for the great advice.
I'm excited to talk to other gals who have to deal with these same issues.
I'm thankful to be alive, to have so many supportive friends (especially the one who found this group for me), a funny partner-in-crime, and to have a little Moon Pie on the way!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi, I'm new to the check in. EDD: 7/19/2011. I have APS and LA. I'm currently on 1 - 81 mg baby aspirin and start heparin in 2 weeks.
I am so thankful for my DH who is helping me out (my m/s is horrible) so much, managing the house, our DD, and everything else! I'd be so lost without him right now.
I am thankful for having an amazing husband and a wonderful group of family and friends who are so supportive during this pregnancy.
Happy Thanksgiving.
