What is the plural version of Lopez? I want to order SIL and her husband a personalized item and monogram it like "The Smiths" .... but what's the proper plural form for the last name Lopez? Lopezes? That looks really bizarre to me.

Re: dumb grammar question
That's kind of what I was thinking, but it's a tree skirt and I felt like that got a little wordy. IDK.
Funny thing is, my maiden name ends in an 's' and I should probably know how to handle this. My family always went 'The Xxs Family' route, though.

I have no idea. But, just wanted to throw in there that I used to be a Jones and always wondered how I would do the plural + possessive (i.e., the house belonging to more than one Jones).
rssn??
ETA: I just googled and, duh, the article changes to make it plural. So, you should do "Los Lopez" Walla!!
My maiden name was an "s" also, and I am pretty sire to make it plural you add es. But I agree "Lopezes" looks weird. Maybe just put "Lopez"? We have a Lopez on our christmas card list I I just do the "The Lopez Family" :P
The Lopezes and the Joneses.
I second the Los Lopez, though.
This is my vote! lol
Lopezes (plural)
Joneses (plural)
Joneses' (plural possesive)
Jones's (singular possessive)
If we're talking about a tree skirt, I think The Lopez Family looks nicer than Lopezes. For some reason Lopezes makes me think of lozenges.
I'd just put Lopez--nothing else. Or, you could do Familia Lopez.
:-)
I sort of just died imagining my SIL's face if she got a tree skirt embroidered with 'Los Lopez'. She's blonde haired and blue eyed and maybe knows 'hola' and 'adios'.
Thanks for the input, ladies. Las Ladies, I mean.
