Toddler Bedding Set

I'm thinking of having my MIL make one, but am not sure its worth it. (I'm going to look for patterns now, but if you have any bookmarked please share!)

Do you plan to/use a toddler bedding set?

Does your little one actually sleep under the sheet?

Do you have more than one set? If not, what do you do for a backup?

Re: Toddler Bedding Set

  • do you mean like a quilt or comforter type of thing cuz you can just use the crib sheet on the mattress still right?

  • Yea I think I want the whole set (matching fitted sheet, top shet, comforter, pillow case, maybe dust ruffle!)

  • We plan to convert Holly's crib to a toddler daybed sometime after the new year.. but aren't in a rush. :-)

Do you plan to/use a toddler bedding set? I might kind of make one. We'll keep using the fitted crib sheets, and I'm making some flat sheets out of old fitted sheets (so the end will still be elastic to stay in place. I think I might make her some kind of blanket, maybe just out of fleece or something, as a "comforter" (it's on my long list of things to make, so who knows when I'll get to them!)

Does your little one actually sleep under the sheet?  don't know yet. But she probably won't at first.

Do you have more than one set? If not, what do you do for a backup I plan to make a couple of "flat" sheets, and a couple of top blankets.

  • Not sure if they still have them but last month when we converted DS to a toddler bed I found a toddler bedding set on clearance at Target for about $20 which I thought was a great price.  So I just bought that.  We use his crib sheets as back up and I bought a cheap twin flat sheet that I cut in half to use as back up flat sheets.

  • I don't plan on converting J to a toddler bed for a while, but in his crib he has his fitted sheet & a small quilt that my MIL made. He sleeps under that just fine now (I just lay it on top of him & "tuck tuck" when I put him to bed), so we'll probably continue to use that option.
  • Hi... I'm new (a fomer lurker but have met many Bump Triangle mommies in person).  Anyway, wanted to answer the Toddler bedding question.

Do you plan to/use a toddler bedding set?  No, not yet but will get one once we move Jo to a toddler bed (he's 21 months).  I'm due with boy #2 in April and want to use his old crib.

Does your little one actually sleep under the sheet?  YES!!!  We started putting a pillow in Jo's crib to elevate his head when he had a cold.  Now he sleeps with his head on a pillow and a non-matching blanket pulled up to his chin.  I love seeing him sleeping like a big boy!  Before he used to thrash around all over his crib for 20 min, LOL :)

Do you have more than one set?  No, we have lots of matching crib sheets but he loves one particular blanket so I wash it once a week (and am always panicking that the laundry won't be done before bedtime).

On a side note, as soon as we began talking about moving Jo to a toddler bed, he started waking up 1-3 times at night after sleeping through the night for months!  Must be his toddler spidey sense.
