What are your thoughts on initials that make a word?
My newest favorite girl name is Sutton Eliza and our last name starts with W... so her initials would be SEW. I wouldn't normally give it a second glance, but I love to sew and think it's a little cheesy. your thoughts?

My initials are now END. So I don't mind them spelling things out and SEW isn't bad. Now if it were A.S.S., GOD (DH's orginial request for boys name George Oliver D***), APE, etc. Well then I wouldn't do it, but SEW definitely isn't bad.

DH tells me I'm his END. His END of looking for the right woman, etc. lol.
I read an article not that long ago that said that children whose initials spell a negative word (BUM, BAD, SAD, etc.) live three-years less on average than children whose initials do not spell a word.
On the other hand, children whose initials spell a positive word (ACE, GO, WIN, etc.) live five-years longer, on average than children whose initials do not spell a word.
The article and the included study didn't, unfortunately contain any information to children whose initials spell neutral words like sew . . . but, since it's not a negative word, I don't see any reason you should avoid it.
They don't bother me unless they spell something obscene (our last name starts with a "K," so I am very conscious of not having initials like ***).
My own initials are ASK and DD's are ACK. In most monogramming, the last name initial is in the middle anyway, so you rarely see it spelling the word itself.
SEW wouldn't bother me at all... I was SES (maiden name), and now I'm SEE -- kind of funny, since I'm pretty blind without my contacts!
Growing up, my brother latched on to the initials idea and told me I had to find a husband whose last name started with X so I'd be SEX.

My sister and I were both "KEG". And yes, our parents let me put it on my backpack (in elementary and middle school) and kids would ask if I had any beer. I had no idea what they were talking about. I learned to embrace it as I got older and now I kind of miss it
Oh ya, and totally unintentional, but DS's monogram is "BMW"
