How much time did you spend actually laying down vs. in a recliner (or something similar)?
The only time I can stand to lay down is when I nap during the day or at night when I'm sleeping. Laying propped up on my back puts too much pressure on my tailbone. Laying on a side means I only have a matter of time before a baby or two slides down into my side, mimicking a boulder I'm laying directly on top of. And getting up from a laying position if I'm awake and peeing frequently? HA! I might as well be working out on bed rest with all the heaving and huffing and puffing.
My instincts say I'm better off in my recliner, but I'm worried that I'm not in a bed-friendly position often enough.

I actually do something in between. I can't stay in bed because I won't sleep a night. I am allowed to sit up sometimes, but I recline on the sofa. I'm only allowed to get up to use the bathroom or take a shower and can sit at the table for dinner if I'm not cramping. But I do end up getting my own drinks and occasionally lunch if no one is around.
I guess I'm allowed a little more freedom, but I have been to active and have paid for it. So even though it's hard we have to be careful.
