North Dakota Babies

random thought

On days that I don't produce very much I am super starving all day long. It is ridiculous and annoying. that's all.

Re: random thought

  • Maybe your body is telling you you need more nutrients. Same thing has happened here and I have noticed that a lot of times it's thirst. I don't produce much if I am dehydrated, or hungry.

  • Maybe.  I need to start paying more attention I guess.  Sigh.  Breastfeeding is supposed to make you lose weight and it is just supposed to work.  It so doesn't do either of those things.  Reason # 5748 I don't want to have another child.  I don't want to BF again.
  • You'll probably lose the rest of the weight as soon as you wean.  I know a lot of people say their body holds on to weight while they're BFing.  It's like it keeps reserves or something.  It's so weird that that happens for some women but not all.  I wonder why?

Losing weight is a perk for some, it doesn't happen for everyone. I haven't lost a pound since she was 7 weeks old. And it old works if you take good care of yourself making sure you're getting enough calories & you're hydrated. You need both things to keep up your supply.

    Sorry you're frustrated.

  • I had a supply drop recently.  A doc I work with mentioned that his wife couldn't eat enough to keep her supply up.  It occurred to me that I am pretty sure I am eating enough calories, but I was eating pretty crappy - just a lot of junk.  I started focusing on eating more nutritious - fruits, veggies, lean protein, and whole grains.  It seems to be helping, although I am also taking fenugreek and eating oatmeal for breakfast, and trying to drink more water so those things are probably helping too.  I also feel like I am more hungry and more thirsty.  You may already be eating well but just thought I would throw that out there.
  • Thanks ladies. I eat pretty good but I do have a sweet tooth. Sigh. I am going to track what I eat today and see if things are better. I don't like to be hungry all the time though. It makes me feel like a fatty. Even if I am eating healthy. I didn't have my oatmeal yesterday though. I wonder if thatv would make that big of a didfference.
