I am having trouble coming up with ideas for a "bigger" gift for both boys b/c they are so close in age and share everything. I was thinking maybe Santa could bring them one bigger gift that would be under the tree for both of them? They would have other smaller things in their stockings and some practical stuff, but this would be their main gift. Thoughts?
Re: Would it be bad if the boys big gift for xmas was a combined gift?
Hey, my kids' big gift is a bounce house, and it's the big item for both of them for Christmas AND their December birthdays.
They will get some small stuff (think Pillow Pet and Legos), but the biggie is the bounce house. We have room to set it up indoors, so we can work off some energy during the loooong Ohio winter.

Growing up, me and N would get joint gifts. Never bothered either one of us as we had plenty of other gifts individually. It allowed my mom to get us something like Nintendo, for example. As we didn't need two, obviously, and it was quite a big expense for just one kid.
Joey and Cam will be receiving plenty of joint gifts through the year, I would imagine. Last year, it was all the zhu zhu pet accessories. This year, they are getting a basketball hoop as a joint gift (I think...not fully decided). But I see nothing wrong with joint gifts.
We're planning on quite a few joint gifts for the boys and most likely, their big Santa gift will be combined. They both want the same things anyway. At the moment, I think we're going to do a train table and a Shake & Go race track. We also thought about that Step 2 roller coaster.
I see nothing wrong with joint gifts. My sisters and I got them often when we were growing up. I can't say I wasn't annoyed when my parents continued to do it after I wasn't living there anymore...and especially when I was married, but under normal circumstances, I think it's totally fine.
