Hate it. But I don`t think it sounds snobby, so much as it sounds like a name someone who was trying to be snobby would use, kwim? It screams either ``new money`` or trying to be money, but a swing and a miss for both. Like something a stripper would name her kid to `prove`` she was classy.

YES! this is what I was going to say. Sounds like someone trying to sound rich. Like Bentley!
I really like this name because I associate it with someone I know who is very handsome and a great guy. He is middle class/upper middle and not some Little Lord Fauntleroy at all. Quite the opposite. I guess some think it reeks of faux pretentiousness, but I would reserve that designation for more contrived titles... names like Octavia and Alistair.
Re: Preston
I feel the same way.
I used to teach at a children's gym, and out of the 3 Prestons that taught, all three were snotty and came from snobby parents.
I like the name, but it's hard to not associate it with the ones I've known.
I'm sorry. I don't care for Preston, either. I think it has a real "do.uchebag" feel.
Agree.
This.
