once they start doing this, how much longer is it usually until they are crawling? dd started army crawling on saturday (chasing the remote i put out of her reach, so i thought). i am so not ready for a mobile baby!

It was 2 weeks of army crawling/backwards scooting for us until he was crawling for real.  

It is inevitable, I'm afraid.  :P

We've been army crawling for a little over a week. Still no hands and knees crawling, but he has been getting up on his hands and knees alot more often in the past few days... I'm scared!

ours just carried on with army crawling faster and faster. he's completely mobile and really doesn't need to actually crawl

Abe army crawled for about two months before he did the traditional crawl.  He was really fast at it and I wondered if he'd just skip crawling.  Then a couple weeks ago he suddenly started crawling, pulling up to stand, and cruising in the span of a couple days.

Similar to this. My DD has been army crawling for 2 months. She is rocking on her knees here and there, but still isn't crawling "correctly." But it doesn't matter. She's ALL over the place.

I was wondering this too.  DS has been army crawling for a week now.  He's fast!  Sounds like every baby is different.
