XP: menu for 1 year old

So I guess we're supposed to start weaning off the bottle and going for milk/formula in sippy/straw/cups.  But I'm also afraid he won't get the nutrition he needs.

Can those of you who have kiddos this age and beyond share some of your sample daily menus for them?

I also found these sites - does this sound like too much food?

Re: XP: menu for 1 year old

  • we feed her whatever we feel like.....or i should say whatever she feels like eating! LOL if she wants something she makes it known!

she tends to like a lot of dairy (yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese etc) so we give her what she wants

she also normally eats 1 whole large banana at lunch and then another one at dinner

then she eats some veggies and pasta or something like that

to me she eats a lot, esp for a 17lb one year old...and probably what a bigger baby eats :)

we aren't at a point where we are too worried about getting a "perfectly" balanced diet...the pedi said as long as we are offering a good variety from each food group (and plenty of things with iron and vitamin D) and she has a good appetite we're ok.

and i guess to answer your Q...i looked at the first link and it does seem like a lot of food but at the same time i think miss A almost eats that much already so maybe it isn't. we call her our little piglet :)
