Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Ear tubes?

Lo is getting them on Wednesday and her apt isnt till 930 am but we have to be there at 830 am. How am I going to keep her from flipping out because she cant eat or drink anything except 4 oz of water before 630am. Any experience and how were your lo's with this? My husband is starting to make me secind guess our decision because she hasnt had one in a few months so he thinks she is fine. But she had 5 ear infections before she was 10mths old. SHe will be almost 11 mths when she gets the tubes. Please tell me I am making the right choice? Thanks in advance.

Re: Ear tubes?

  • We are getting them done on the 30th.  Our case was pretty clear cut - 7 ear infections and 9 rounds of antibiotics, failed hearing test, constant blockage of the ear.

No idea what Im gonna do about not feeding him.  Let me know how that goes!!!

  • From a kid who had a lot of ear infections I would say yes. A lot of mine is allergies or sensitivites now. But, my EARS I haven't had trouble except itching in YEARS.  Take care of that baby girl. It will be hard but be prepared with food ASAP by doctors orders. Good Luck.

  • Did you get a second opinion?  Our LO is currently on her 2nd antibiotics to help with her 3rd ear infection.  Doc said that if it does not get better, they want to put tubes.  But before I would agree to that, we will get second/third opinion.
