My 8 month old DS has suddenly started biting us. HARD. We both say "ow" in a stern voice and then "no biting" but it isn't doing anything. Is there anything we can do at this age or is it just a phase he will grow out of? (I doubt anyone would suggest this on here but biting back is not an option. My mother suggested this.)
Re: XP: Biting
DS went through a biting phase a while ago. I would just say, in a firm voice, "OUCH, that hurts Mama when you bite!" then I would set him down or get up and walk away from him for a few seconds. If he followed me I would pick him up, and if he didn't I would go back a few seconds later and resume playing like nothing happened. It broke his heart (and mine), but he learned very quickly not to bite me.
