I have frozen banana before, it changes color and maybe texture a little, but it's fine. Never frozen avocado, I imagine it would also change color. The fat in it might make it separate though. You probably won't need to freeze banana for long; once your lo gets more into solids, you can start mashing fresh banana with a fork and just give it to them. HTH!
I concur, mashing a banana with a fork is easier. I just mash a little banana and put the rest of the banana in a bag for the next day, or for my cereal. I know that restaurants have frozen avocado that they use for guacamole and stuff, (my parents own a restaurant). Not sure if their is a special process that would be best. But I might think adding a little lime to it before you freeze it might help!

I find that avocado freezes best in slices and then I just thaw and mash up when needed. Then I just use BM to thin it out. Bananas I just mash with a fork as needed. wholesomebabyfood.com is a great resource for how to freeze and store homemade baby food. Have fun!
I freeze bananas in slices for the mesh feeder- I give it to DS when I notice he's teething. I actually keep the peel on and peel the slice right before I use it- not sure if that helps.
I don't know about avacado.

I've heard avocado may freeze easier in slices as opposed to mashed up. Plus adding a couple drops of lemon or lime juice (it's not enough acid to hurt baby's tummy I've heard) helps to keep it from browning.
www.wholesomebabyfoods.com has a lot of great info on freezing foods, how to do it, and which ones freeze best and which ones don't
