strollers

I'm sure this gets talked about all the time, but I have a question.

I know it's early to be thinking about this. I am trying to decide if I should get the Joovy Big Caboose (DD still loves the stroller and I'd like to have the option for her to have a place to sit) or the DSNG for at first and then the City Mini double for later. The Joovy seems really long, but getting the DSNG/City Mini leaves no riding option for DD.

Thinking about this now because I have a chance to get the Joovy for a steal on CL right now, and not sure how long it will last.

Re: strollers

  • i have talked to a few moms who have the big caboose and all hated it - impossible to get around, etc.

the valco trimode twin + toddler seat is the best option- i got mine on CL for $500 (a steal)... i looked EVERY DAY, multiple times a day- and when it was posted i jumped on it - b/c they go fast.

How comfortable is the toddler seat? Does it recline? Can he still nap?

That is really good to know about the Big Caboose. DH and I were just talking about it and I was worried about that.

  • Please stay away from the Big Caboose.  I found one on clearance at BRU, tried it out in the store and it was IMPOSSIBLE to steer.  If you only want to go straight, it's nice, but I couldn't turn it easily at all with just DS1 in there, I couldn't imagine with the twins in it too.
  • Oh! I just saw that Baby Jogger is coming out with a standing platform attachment for the City Mini next month! That is fantastic...but if I use a DSNG for the first few months, it still leaves DD walking. Hmm...

  • I'm also trying to find a stoller for my twins coming next April. The twin books I read recommend getting a Babytrend snap and go frame or BOB frame, and just buying car seats to snap into them. Then my husband and I saw a nice twins stroller by Chicco at a baby expo show. What do you recommend? I am wondering why the books think the frames are better. The Chicco seems like less work although might be a little more heavy.
