Who has less of a tolerance for their fur babies now that you have kids? I have two cats, a female Himi who is so sweet and gentle, and a male Siamese who is super energetic and vocal.
I used to think that no way, I'll always love them as much as I did before having DS. THey were my kids after all!! lol But I find myself less tolerant of the car hair (we keep the Himi shaved now) and of the crying/meowing that the Siamese does. I was just nursing DS to sleep and the Siamese was attacking the Himi. Not mean, just wanting to play. She hissed at him and they ran into our bedroom.
He has been meowing at the garage door for an hour as DH lets him out there sometimes. I find them both in DS's crib in the last week (we put double sided tape in it while pg as we wanted to teach them that they couldn't go in there). The Siamese knows how to open DS's closet door so we find him sleeping in it.
I feel terrible about it. I don't want to give them away, that's not what I mean. I just wish that I still had the patience for them like I used to. Such a bad mommy.
Re: Am I the only one????
I really, really hate the term "fur babies."
It's worse than "baby dance."

I know! I'm sorry.
They aren't really that too me anymore and that's why I feel bad. Even when I typed it I had to consider this terminology.
i know how you feel about not having as much time for the pets but i keep in mind that the pet didn't change (aside from the pp's cat peeing on the bed:(
take me for example, my bubba finn fat cat is still the best kitty in the whole wide world. it's his mama that started sucking about 4 years ago when #2 boy child came along.
i currently am trying to mend my not so great attention to the pets. they need more than food, water and general maitenance. plus my kids need to see that the pet does mean a lot to me. thank heavens for fatty finners, i've mended my evil ways.
No problemo, that beautiful baby in your siggie makes it better.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
Thank you.
He lights up our world.
