Irritated with FI (kinda long, sorry)

He informed me on his lunch break today that we are going to a birthday party 45 minutes away at 2:30, and then tomorrow we are going to his parents house 1 hour away to return their car and see his brothers new house.

My issues here: my FI doesn't even like the couple who is hosting the bday party, it is for their son at a gymnastics place. He only wants to go so DD can run around for a while. Which I totally get, but I don't want to drive 45 minutes for her to run around for 30 minutes, for her only to fall asleep in the car and stay up till 11 p.m.

His parents could drive here to pick up the car, hell they do it all the time. But they want us to come down so we can see his brothers new house (Which we can't even go into, so we could only look at the outside..... exciting, NOT!) 

Lastly, does he even know what the gas prices are? I mean COME ON! It's over $3 a gallon and he wants to do all of this driving, with MY car?!?!
