Can I AW my quilt? PIP

This is the only the second on that I have ever made.  The first was a small baby quilt.  This one is for our living room as a cuddle on the couch blanket.  I was getting tired of the afghans not covering my toes and nose at the same time!

Now after you are done admiring I need an honest opinion.  Do you like the border that I put around it?  I love the fabric but am not sure about it around this quilt.  I will bind it in black if that matters.

  • Nice! :)

I see what you mean about the boarder.  I think it looks a bit off because all of the boarders around the small squares are much more bold and less delicate.  Plus, all of the other fabric seems very modern/much more graphic than the boarder.

  • Is that fried egg fabric?  Love it!  :oD

    I like the border fabric.

Why yes it is!  All of the fabrics except for one are chicken related (eggs, corn, chickens, chicken wire!)

  • I am not well-versed in quilt terms but I think that once you bind it in black and have another dark color around the border that it will tie it all together nicely.

    Great job!

I love it! I have a very similar quilt on my bed Big Smile  I feel the same way Papagena feels about the boarder.

Every spare waking minute for the past 2ish weeks Embarrassed

I did not take too long, but I get very little free time.  Probably 2 hours per row of 6 block including cutting and ironing.  It took maybe 3 hours to sew all the rows together and about an hour to put the border on.
