Feel slight period cramps in third trimester... hmm....

Anyone feel what is like a period crampy feeling in your third trimester? I don't have any back pain, or bleeding or anything like that so not sure if I should even be concerned. I just had a doctor apptmt and I measured a 27 at my cervical exam the other day. Would you call the doctor? Or do you think this is just normal? It's a small tad uncomfortable. thanks all--

  • i've been wondering the same.  what i was told is to watch the clock, if i feel consistent cramping for an hour to call and go in.  but the cramps are small and far from unbearable.  just uncomfortable.  for me, it seems like its getting a little harder everyday now...

  • i had low abdominal cramping- similar to my period cramps- almost the entire pregnancy.

  • My Dr's office has a preterm labor program multiple Mom's have to enroll in. I have to drink a certain amount of water a day and spend two hours (one hour morning, one hour evening) checking/counting contrax.

If I have more than 6 in a hour I have to call in. If I feel sudden one's like period cramps outside the hours I am checking, I am suppose to drink water and laydown on my left side and count them. If I get over 6 in an hour I need to call L&D. A nurse calls me once a week to check in and I keep track of what I am feeling and report it. So far if it has not been 6 in a hour, they are not concerned.

  • Mine seem to be just a couple an hour for just a small time during the day- I so agree, it's getting harder for me a little bit more each day for sure. I just started getting a lot of these scratching movements on my bladder which are unsettling to say the least. We're almost there!!!

  • I had some one day during work.  I made sure I kept hydrated during the day, and drank TONS of water... but the cramps were consistent.  I finally called OB's office, and that was my first trip to L&D.  Nothing was wrong w/ babies, and blood work showed I was well hydrated.  I was still given an IV, which nurses say very often alleviate the pain, for some reason.  If they persist, I'd call OB, JIC.  Feel better!

Thanks for the advice..yeah if I feel them get more consistent or worse I am definitely going  to call for sure. Seems to happen just once or twice during the day right now. But you get paranoid ya know?
