Somerset Pediatric Group vs Hunterdon Pediatric Associates??

Hi All - I am due in 5 weeks and have finally started thinking about finding a pediatrician. has anyone had any experience with either of these groups, Somerset Pediatric Lebanon office or Hunterdon Pediatric Clinton office? Would appreciate any recommendations, I am a first time mom trying to make the most informed decision possible...Thanks in advance :)

  • I use Somerset Peds, the Lebanon office and am happy there.  Both of my daughters see Dr. Yorke primarily for well visits, for sick visits I will take whoever I can get.  I really like Dr. Yorke, some people find him to be tough, but I like the fact that he doesn't sugar coat things.  I have also seen Dr. Trend, love her and Dr. Fischer, he's good too.  There are a few dr's I do not like, but nothing I can't deal with for a sick visit.  They are good b/c they have weekend and night hours which works for me as a working mom.

  • Thanks for the info, I def like the idea of having weekend and night hours, I dont think that Hunterdon Pediatrics offered that flexibility. BTW your children are adorable! Love the names too:)

  • I take Gracie to Somerset Ped but in Hillsborough.  I can't comment on the offices you were speaking of but the group in general seems very good.  We had to go to the Bridgewater location the day after Gracie was discharged to check her weight/bili rubin.  I liked that they have a location w/ Sunday hours.  Also, they were in the hospital where I delivered and I got to meet about 3 or 4 of them.  I've had great experiences w/ all the docs but one and the only issue there was I was being pushed to give formula when she was 3 days old and that pissed me off.

    Good luck!!!!

I also take DD to Somerset Peds...to see Dr. Yorke. I agree that he can be tough, but he is very thorough. He was the pediatrician that the nurses in the hospital agreed was great. He sees patients at both the Lebanon & Bedminster office. I'm not sure if it's too late, but if you check Somerset Peds website, they have "open house" events at their different offices. DH & I went, which is when we met Dr. Yorke. It doesn't really matter which office you go to for the orientation, b/c they all operate under the same procedures. Best wishes!
