First off, congratulations on the 6-7 hours of sleep! Evan wasn't sleeping that much until he was 3 months old. He used the RNP during the day, but slept in the newborn napper part of the PNP at night. It was also at an angle and close to our bed. We actually transitioned him from the newborn napper to the bassinet part of the PNP and then to his crib. We used a sleep positioner and a bed wedge in the PNP and his crib to help him go from sleeping at an angle in a confined space to the big, open, flat crib.
This really did seem to help. We moved him to his crib until he was 4 months old because it was more convenient for us. When he started trying to roll over we went cold turkey and stopped swaddling, and using the sleep positioner. The minute he learned to roll over he decided he was a tummy sleeper and has been sleeping for 11 hour stretches ever since.
I hope at least some of this information is helpful. Good luck on making the transition!
Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!
BFP #1 6/22/09 EDD: 3/2/10 DS born: 3/8/10
TTC #2 since Dec 2011
BFP #2 7/8/12 EDD: 3/18/12 M/C @ 9w1d: 8/16/12
Thanks so much! O used to be a horrible sleeper but since on her meds and the RNP she is sleeping like a champ! I feel so lucky and blessed!
I think I'm going to try to incline her crib first and hopefully that helps and start slowly with naps. Thanks for your advice. I'm hoping she won't miss her RNP too much. She just looks so comfy in there.
