Potty learning Q?

I introduced the potty around 12 months but she really just played with it which was fine, I just wanted her to get comfy with it. recently she started taking of her CD when wet and saying Pee Pee!! But when I put her on the potty she just wants to play in it. LOL. If I let her run naked she goes pee when she plays then just looks down. If I catch her and put her on the potty she cries. I just don't know what to do? She's showing signs of being ready but doesn't seem 100% sure yet. What should I do now? Should I keep trying a little more or wait till the baby is a little older? Thanks. I'm just so lost.

Re: Potty learning Q?

  • I let C stay naked at home and just goes to the potty when he needs to go. If thee is an accident we clean it and say "remember, pee goes in the potty". At first we were Just taking him once an hour and sitting him on the potty. No asking just saying it's dtome to go and going. But if there is crying don't force it.

  • sounds like she's almost ready but not quite. DD was like that around 2 but it took till 2.5 for her to really "get it".

after her initial introduction with the potty, i put it up, then when it came back down again it wasn't for playing with, it was for pee/poop. but that's us, doesn't work for everyone that way.

  • DS is almost 3.5 and refuses toilet training. I've tried everything. DD is 18m and loves training. Too bad I didn't start earlier. I was so occupied with DS. I think DD might pass up DS! I don't think there is a no fail potty training method.
