Hi I am being induced starting tomorrow, and I was wondering if we should take a boppy, is it helpful to have at the hospital? Anything else that you would recommend? Thanks!

No, I didn't bring the Boppy. We over packed big time. We never used the dvd player, DVDs, magazines... We did use the iPod and dock to play music. I was not induced though, so I don't know how much waiting there will be. Try to get rest before labor if you can (I know it will be tough). Bring a brush, some light make up, chapstick, deodorant, camera, tooth brush/paste, a baby blanket, your pillow, a pillow and blanket for DH, socks. Good luck!

We WAAAY overpacked. Leave the DVD player at home. I did read a little but almost all of my time was spent staring at our new LO or caring for her.
But I did use the boppy quite often and would totally recommend taking it with you.
I also recommend taking a blanket or something to use when the photographer comes in for newborn pics. You don't want to use the hospital blankets for that.
Good luck!!

I found it useful with my son and used it constantly. I took it with my daughter and wasn't able to use it much (though I did try) because of the positioning we needed to use for her to nurse properly. We had to do a few things for suckle training on her and the Boppy was harder to use that way. I'm using it now at home and now that we can use more typical positions for nursing. If I have another baby I'll still take the Boppy to the hospital. It just worked out that I couldn't use it with her in the first couple days.
I didn't pack too much. Just the basics for me - I did pack a magazine just in case but I never ended up reading it. I did pack the boppy and was glad I did. I used it all thetime in the hospital because there wasn't enough pillows, etc. to provide support in feeding her. I'm planning on bringing it this time too.
Good luck with your induction!

I did not have mine with my hospital stuff but the day after she was born I had my parents bring it because I quickly realized I wanted it. Even if you don't decide to BF it is really nice to use to comfortable hold the baby. Good luck to you!!
Yes...I did! I had a c-section...and it helped to be able to nurse. Even though your being induced...I would take it and have it in the car just in case your labor turns into a c-section....it makes nursing a LOT easier and less painful!

GL with your induction! Yes, I brought the boppy and used it for every feeding. Something else that made me a lot more comfortable, too, especially since an induction can take a long time, were my own pillows. I brought a bed pillow and my body pillow.
I didn't, just used a pillow propped up under my arms if I needed it - but I think he was so light at that point that I didn't feel I even needed anything..
Bring a laptop, camera, and THE CONNECTOR! we forgot ours and my dad had to go to our house the next day to get it..
also, bring your shampoo and soap and whatnots, and changes of clothes for your and your husband! Dan ended up sleeping in the pull out next to me, in the clothes he wore there, for 2 days!
