Measuring HCG-TMI alert

Hi Ladies,

I had spotting starting last Thursday and it's been on and off since then.  I went in on Monday and they said my cervix was closed but the ultrasound was measuing at 5 weeks (one week off).  TMI alert: I am not sure if I passed tissue or not.  It could have been just bloody discharge...I have no idea what I'm looking for if it's only 5 weeks.

So I had blood work done today and will have it again on Friday to see how my HCG levels go.

I'm hoping for good news Friday afternoon!

  • Tissue is a clot from what I understand.  You would know if you passed a clot.

  • You would definitely know if you were passing clots.  There's no mistaking them.

I had brown spotting at 6-7 weeks that last for almost a week.  My dr had me come in for an ultrasound and we saw that the baby was fine and had a nice, strong heartbeat.  The dr said brown spotting is usually nothing to worry about.  Brown is old blood, either from implantation or your previous AF, your body is just getting rid of it.  Until my spotting stopped I was told to take it easy, no sex, no lifting heavy objects, and drink plenty of water.
