Random Question - Labor Related

I went to labor with C at 4 am.  (Well that's when I woke up because my water had broken.)  It was always an active time for him in the womb and 'til this day is still when he wakes up at night.

This baby seems to like 8/9 pm range.  I totally think I will go into labor at that time.  Am I crazy?  Was it like that for anyone else?  Where their child/children were always most active at a set time?

Re: Random Question - Labor Related

  • I went into labor with both kids around 3 am.  I never noticed a particularly active time for either during the night (DD was usually mid afternoon and DS was when I was going to bed around 10).

  • I went into labor with DD at 3:15am. DH said through out my pregnancy that he would feel DD kicking him in the back between 3 - 4 am. I never noticed the activity, but if she wakes at night now it is usually durning that time period.

You definitely could be on to to something...

  • I don't recall DD being active during the night since I was sleeping, LOL.  But now she will wake around 3:30 or 4 if she does, and I had my first contraction w/ her at 3:50.

W/ DS, my first serious contraction was 3:50 pm.  It's not necessarily an active time for him.  But really, these days if he's awake, he's moving.

  • I also started having contractions (that woke me up, at least) around 4 am. I don?t know whether DD was active then, since I was usually asleep. Her most active time was 10:00 pm.

But I say go with instinct. I had the feeling that DD would be born on the 12th. When I went into labor on the 11th, my first thought was ?this is not good,? because I was so convinced that I was going to deliver the next day, which meant I was going to have a long labor. Which I did. (Deliver on the 12th- and have a long labor).

  • Quinn was active all the time.  All day, all evening... if I got up to pee in the middle of the night or rolled over from side to side and shook him up, he was awake and kicking.  He slept like that also (very little and waking often).  I'm not sure I'm an accurate comment for the going into labor aspect, because the dr stripped my membranes and I had contractions all day (I guess... though I was trying to ignore them) and got very uncomfortable in the early evening.

Although, as I'm typing this, I'm remembering my first contraction w/ dd - that it came around 7 am when I was in the shower and that I used to wake up and "play with her" (my belly) every morning... so yes, she was active then.

Maybe there is something to this theory....

  • Oh man, I hope you're wrong. haha

DS is very active right before I go to bed and I'd really not like being up all night in labor. :S

    Guess we'll see.

Interesting observation. I'd like to see a study about it.
