Adoption

new foster child gone :(

As it turns out K has a former foster family who he sees more than just through safe families.  They spend A LOT of time with him. They?ve had him probably a total of 6-7 months out of the last 12.

Well the mom asked them to take him but they said they wanted it to be through safe families but she got mad and called safe families and he ended up getting placed with us.

So when they found out that we had him, they were really sad and wanted him with them.

Of course we were bummed to see him go so quickly, but when the family showed up and K?s face lit up like it did and he RAN into their arms, I knew he was exactly where he was suppose to be.

We both agreed it was like S seeing us again when he does.  Which makes me miss him all over again.

It was such a great feeling to know that he is loved and wanted by 2 families!

Lucky kid.

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • Bittersweet.  I've been thinking of that little guy since you posted about him.  Sounds like you are a great mama.  He's lucky to have spent even a little bit of time with your family.
  • He is a lucky kid.  It must give you some relief knowing that he's going somewhere safe and full of love.  But, still a bummer.  I'm sure your house is pretty quiet today... or as quiet as it can be with a toddler ;)
After THREE years, our IVF miracle is here!!!

  • Rachel, I applaud your ability to see the bigger picture. You are just so wise. I know it hurts to let him go, and I am sorry for that.

We pray for your family all the time. Something great is coming you way!

  • What a "blessed" little boy to have two wonderful families to show him love when he needed it the most and what a wonderful woman for knowing the difference :0) In a world like this I'm always happy to know its not always so awful knowing families like you exist

  • You are an awesome foster parent to be able to recognize that. I work with foster/ adoptive kids and it is hard at times to see two families who are wanting the same child and knowing that one family will get heartbroken. On the other hand, it is great to know that a child has two different families that are dedicated to him or her. Keep up the great work and I am sure that you will get that special child soon :)
