My daughter had her shots almost a week ago, and still has marks from the bandaids. Is that normal? It is very red and dry. You can see the marks of the bandaids. I was wondering if maybe she had an allergic reaction to the latex
I would ask the DR office the next time if they use latex bandaids. Most medical practices have moved away from using latex items such as gloves and bandaids. I agree with the previous poster that it is probably more related to the adhesive.
Yup, as previous post mentioned, it's most likely a contact allergy to the adhesives found in bandaids. Put a little hydrocortisone cream on 2x day and it should be gone in a few days. In the future, use gauze and paper tape (both found in the first aid section of a pharmacy) instead of bandaids

Re: Bandaid marks
no I wouldn't think that's normal. Red and dry could both be signs of an allergic-type reaction. I'd stick to non-latex in the future.
I'm not sure what type of allergy I have, but I get red almost rash looking marks from stuff like surgical tape and if i leave a bandaid on too long.
edit: ?I am not allergic to latex. ?I think it has more to do with something in the adhesive that bothers my skin.

This is what happens to me, too. I ask for paper tape instead and they cover the area with cotton.
