Amazon Green Toys update

Here's what I finally got emailed:

"In order to take advantage of this $5 promo credit, you must place an order during the specified promotion period. We are unable to apply discounts retroactively to items ordered after the date of any special offer.

Under the circumstances, I'll make a one-time exception for you and will apply $5 promotional certificate to your account. Hence, I request you to place a new order for the items directly from Amazon and write back to us stating the new order number, so that we'll add $5 to your account."

But why does the link still work if the promo is no longer valid, and why aren't there any dates listed?!  Weirdness all around.

Very weird.  They wouldn't give me my credit until it shipped.
