Can this bread machine be saved???

I know I haven't been good to my bread machine. . . but if anyone has any experience with this, I'd like to try to save it, esp. since we really can't afford a new one.

It is 10 years old.

Spent 5 of those years being stored in a damp basement.

Just realized instruction manual says not to soak bread pan for a long period. I've done that repeatedly.

The kneading mechanism barely works; it still turns, but only if the bread machine is empty (ie. not enough power for a loaf of dough).

When I used it this morning, there was a burning smell.

Should I just ditch it?

All that combined with the burning smell makes me vote for ditching it.

I vote for ditching it. 10 years old and not enough power to knead the dough....time to buy a new one!
