tinea versicolor

Anyone have any luck with natural treatments for tinea versicolor?  I have a case between my breasts and it is spreading to my belly.  I have a Ketoconazole script, but can't take that while I'm pregnant. I want to clear it up soon b/c this is my first and I want to take some maternity photos.  I have had random breakouts since I was 15, so it is not new.  I have tried using tea tree oil, but it is not really working.  Any other recommendations?

Totally unEF. Get some Selsun Blue shampoo. Rub some on the area like a lotion. Leave on for 5-15'mins. Hop in the shower. You may need to do this every couple days for a while but it should take care of it. Before you do on your chest/tummy do a patch test on your inner arm. Also start with five mins and next time you can try 10.

or try OTC athletes foot cream/clotrimazole. It is what I use on DS. I pick it up at the dollar store

wow, i have the same thing! i've had it since i was 7. never heard of anyone else having it... lol

i use over the counter monostat 7 and just lather 2x a day. the first application itches like crazy but after 24 hours you can barely see the spots anymore.

I've used Selsun Blue shampoo before and I hate it, but I know it works   I have never tried athletes foot cream though...I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to go the blue route.  I will probably go pick some up today.

i hate the blue route, i tried it for about a year and it was just irritating... that's when i started using the monostat, if you keep up with it for 2 weeks it usually suppresses mine for at least a month or two (if i use the Blue treatment it only works for a few weeks)

Thanks for the monistat idea!  Anything that you can use in those sensitive regions has got to be better than the blue route!  I will try that instead!
