So I see a lot of the same Mama's on here and thought it would be nice to know a little more about everyone other than, "oh I use BG 4.0's at night stuffed with both inserts and hemp" haha.

Where are you from?
Originally, Fort Worth, TX (by Dallas), I call Cleveland, OH home though (moved there in 2001), currently in Houston, TX
Do you work or are you a SAHM?
SAHM for now. I'm finishing up my doula certification though and starting to work part time as a doula
How did you first learn about cloth?
I have a friend who CDs and I thought they were super cute, plus I love doing things different than the "norm" After researching I discovered the many other benefits aside from the cute factor
How old was your LO when you first started cloth?
We didn't plan on starting until she fit into the OS diapers. However, at 2 weeks old I found 18 prefolds and a wool soaker at a consignment sale for $20. I bought 2 more covers and some snappis and we started at about 2.5 weeks.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!?
I believe so, but I'm also a major neat freak and hate clutter so I cycle through CDs (sell them as I buy more). I've already replaced almost my whole CD stash once. Not because they didn't work. I haven't found a single brand that doesn't work for us, but because I wanted to try new diapers, lol.
How did you first learn about cloth? - Surfing the internet and found Gdiapers, then spent lots more time researching the "new" cloth diapering. DH and I both had cloth diapers, and DH and I both had bad reaction to disposables, so I figured that my daughter will too.How old was your LO when you first started cloth? - She will start within the first couple weeks home from the hopital
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!? - I probably will be .
Fun!!
Where are you from?: We live in southeastern Massachusetts.
Do you work or are you a SAHM?: I work part time.
How did you first learn about cloth?: My DH actually first brought up the idea of CDing. It was before I had even had my first prenatal appointment. He was already online looking at options. haha!
How old was your LO when you first started cloth?: We have CD'd from birth.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!?: Um, probably more so. I'm a serious cloth-a-holic.
ETA: Oh and unlike AliciaCM, I hoard my cloth. I have a lot of diapers. I can't bring myself to part with them when I buy new ones. lol
* Nebraska
* I work part-time at a Treatment Group Home for girls. I work about 8 days a month, so I stay home most of the time.
* My husband's cousin's wife was cd'ing. I thought she was crazy, but then some how I ended up getting in to it and loving it!
* My DD was around 5 months. Now, we cd DS as well.
* Yes, I have a horrible addiction to diapers and car seats (don't ask).
Where are you from? My name is Monica and I'm from San Diego, CA
Do you work or are you a SAHM? Just recently became a SAHM after my DD was born
How did you first learn about cloth? My DH had always wanted to do cloth, I was actually the more hesitant one. Coming home from the hospital DD had developed a bad reaction to her sposies, and I remember seeing cloth diapers at Baby Frenzy (a local baby boutique and the main store that distributes HHs). So we went, got information, bought prefolds/covers and never looked back
How old was your LO when you first started cloth? She was a little less than a week old when I finally got everything together and prepped and she's been in cloth 100% of the time since.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!? I'm absolutely insane about cloth. My DH says I'm addicted
Where are you from? I'm originally from Michigan, currently in the St. Louis area.
Do you work or are you a SAHM? WAHM. I am self employed. Usually only manage to work about 5 hours a week
How did you first learn about cloth? There is a morning show on a local radio station. One of the women decided to use cloth and promoted Cotton Babies (makers of BG).
How old was your LO when you first started cloth? I didn't start until he was a few weeks old. Went full time around 2 months.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!? Um, I hide purchases from my husband and look at cloth diapers online at least once a day. Does that count?
Where are you from? West Texas
Do you work or are you a SAHM? Currently a SAHM. I'm keeping my options open though, and if something comes open in January (teaching position), I may take it, otherwise, I'll stay home with my little guy which would be awesome! I'm also a p/t student working on my MA. Thankfully, most of my classes are online!
How did you first learn about cloth? Honestly, I'm not sure there was a "first" for me. I know my younger brother was CD,but I don't really remember it - I just remember using the prefolds as rags later on. We are a little hippyish (although DH claims to hate hippies) - we are vegetarian, try to be as eco-friendly as possible (tough where we live), and take in all the neighborhood strays, so CDing was a pretty natural next step for us. The gDiaper system was my first experience with cloth, and once I started using the cloth inserts with them, I was hooked! I now have at least 6 or 7 systems, plus a couple more on the way!
How old was your LO when you first started cloth? Around 4 weeks old. For any other kiddos, we'll start right away.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!? In 5 weeks, I've accumulated 9 or so different systems (once my new ones get here!), instead of watching TV or reading, I look at CDs in my spare time, I spent my birthday money on CDs (seriously, I did), and I've had to put myself on a CD allowance to only one or two new ones every payday. I figure if DH can spend $30+/week on beer and/or scotch, I can spend $30 every other week on CDs, right?! I'm totally going to negate the cost benefits of CDs by the time DS is potty trained!Where are you from?
I am from a very small town in western New York state (think Buffalo snow belt)
Do you work or are you a SAHM?
After Sofie is born and I take my maternity leave I will return to work. I would love to be a SAHM but it just isn't feasible and I love what I do (reporter).
How did you first learn about cloth?
I first learned about cloth from the February 2011 Moms board here on The Bump. At first I dismissed it but after more research I knew I wanted to give it a whirl.
How old was your LO when you first started cloth?
She will be a newborn - we are hoping to CD at the hospital, barring any complications that would prevent that. If we don't we will certainly start when we get home.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!?
I have a hard time not buying! I have a very specific list for our NB stash that I am sticking to though, to give myself some guidance. I'll go crazy with the bigger stash. lol
Long Island, New York
Do you work or are you a SAHM?
I SAH 3 days and work as an education director 2 days a week. DS comes with me because my school has an infant and toddler center. I would rather SAH FT but this is a wonderfl opportunity for me to make a decent income and I get to nurse and spend 45 mintues with him on my lunch break.
How did you first learn about cloth?
I had planned on using cloth even before I knew about BG's and FB's, etc... I thought I would be using prefolds and pins because I knew we would have to pinch pennies with me not working FT. I started researching and discovered the world of cloth. I started with gDiapers for no other reason then it was the only brand I could find in a store. I felt very uncomfortable buying something without seeing it first and knowing how it would work. Luckily, one of my friends and my sister each bought a diaper for me off my amazon registry so at least I got to test them out. I got a BG and thirsties cover, once I used the BG a couple times, I found the cottonbabies seconds sale and it was all over from there...
How old was your LO when you first started cloth?
I had planned to start earlier but really only got the nerve to test it out around a month old. I was nervous. I was nervous because there were so many people I felt I had to prove myself too. I was nervous that I wouldn't like it or couldn't keep up with it and then those people would have been right. But, once we started we were dong cloth full time within a week. I still have a of 7th gen in the closet that I will hopefully be able to return.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!?
I am definitely cloth crazy. I could order diapers every day if I had the money. I'm going to try to sell the ones we don't use/love/have a lot of though so that I can keep the excitement going but not lose too much money. I don't think DH cares too much how I spend (within reason) over the course of DS's diapering because to him the real savings will be with DC2. He's already told me that there will be a limit on how many girly diapers I buy if we have a girl next time. I will just have to sell all my blues if that happens
OP- Thanks for posting this, these are fun!

How did you first learn about cloth?
When I found out we were having twins (due in May) and will have 3 kids in diapers I started researching it. I figured we would go through about 200 diapers a week in the newborn phase between all of my children. So much $ and waste. I never thought I would use CD's but I really knew nothing about them.
How old was your LO when you first started cloth?
He is 15 months and I have just started. I did the JD trial but also bought softbums, best bottoms, and a few fitted with wools to get started.
The twins will start once they come home from the hospital. I am slowly building a stash.
And just to make myself feel better. Are you as cloth crazy as me?!?
Yes and it has only been 2 weeks. I order just about every day and it is really scary! I am onl old until thanksgiving weekend. I hope I am still going to save $ at the end of this!!
