would you ever "CLEAN UP" your FB friends list?

Someone posted on my FB that they are cleaning up their friends list (i.e. getting rid of friends that they are not very close to or don't know much about).

Kind of like Fall Cleaning for FB.

Would you ever delete FB friends for this reason or defriend someone because you want to reserve your friends list for only those that you seem close enough to share stuff with? 

I think it's a great idea, I just don't know if I would have the guts to do it.

Yes. I tend to laugh at the copied and pasted messages urging you to leave a comment because they are cleaning their list. I have gone through and realized there are some people on my "friends" list that I just never talk to and don't need to have a connection with.

I'm not like a super secret-keeping person or anything, but only certain "friends" have access to my wall and most of my photos. I don't worry about what I post, because a random acquaintance isn't likely to see it.

And the only reason I opened this is because there are over 2000 views already! lol crazy.

no, i've never done it. i only friend people that i want to be friends with. i think i have like 80-something friends.....if i started deleting people, they'd notice. lol.

Does it take 'guts'?  If you would like to clean up your FB friends to be just those you really want.... Well, I guess I see some of your problem.  I really don't want all my HS friends on my FB anymore but I have yet to delete them.... I want to delete them but I also still want to see what they post about.

I did it the other month. it doesn't require guts to do it. The person never sees that you've unfriended them unless they go to look at your page and you have the security setting on that doesn't allow them access or that ou show up in their people they might know section to have them friend you in which case, you could always explain it off that FB is always having glitches where it deletes and even adds previously deleted people.

I've done it. When I first started FBing I friended most people that I knew, and most that wanted to friend me. Then after a while I decided to only friend people I was truly friends with or wanted to get to know better.

i do it all the time!!  and i post that i just deleted so if they can still see me they made the cut......it is your profile, why wouldn't you take charge of it??

No, I don't do it because I don't accept everyone as my friend.  I hate when people make an announcement about it though...just do it!

I just don't accept everyone's invite. I have no need to friend people I went to school with 15 years ago who I didn't even talk to back then...

I do this every few months. They won't really know if you never interact with them anyway. It's not like they receive a notice that tells them they've been defriended.
