"Danger is my middle name"

We are expecting our second boy and broke my husband's family tradition by not naming our first born son James.  We decided to name this one James but are stuck on his middle name (He will go by his middle name).  My husband, joking at first suggested Danger.  So that he could say "Danger is my middle name". Now it is kind of sticking. Him and our family and friends are referring to the baby as "Danger" I told them, that is fine while he is in utero, but we really need help picking an appropriate name. 

What do you suggest is a good middle name to go with James?  Again, he will be going by his middle name on a day to day basis.  TIA!

James and Danger both have the long A sound, and it just comes across as odd. Besides, anyone who wants to give their kid Danger as a first name (since he will go by his middle), should wear the name themselves...introduce themselves as Danger and so on.

Agreed. Nobody should name their child Danger. Like I said, I am happy for him to have that nick name in utero but once he's out, he will have an appropriate (but hopefully, still original) name.

I have a girlfriend that named her son Motley.  DH and I always talk about how we feel bad for that kid because of his name. I think Danger would be about on par with Motley.

I am looking for good, original names to go with James that would also be good as a first name.

We actually have Aiden on our list (spelled Ayden).  My husband loves Braden, but I think its way too trendy right now and it has a ton of spelling variations.  I love Reid and Kane and the most uncommon one on our list is Payne (which I love and my husband is eh on it).  I also like Corbin, Oliver and Simon- all of which DH has vetoed. It seems our tastes are just too different to agree on anything!

My husband thinks something with 2 syllables in necessary, but I don't thinks so.  His favorites are Gunner and Davin (barf on both accounts, imo)

We need some kind of happy medium... Please help!!

James Payne, James Kane, James Ayden, and James Braden do not sound good at all with the double long A sounds.

James Reid is nice.

My husband's name is James Wesley III ;-) He didn't want the baby to have his whole same name as it was confusing for him growing up but he does want him to have the James...  I like Calum.. I'll need to run that one by him. Thanks!
