Ok so we're on day 3...first day many accidents, second day less...today 3 pee and 1 poop accidents so far (its only noon) and 2 successes in potty. Some of the accidents happen right after I ask him if he has to go....he says no, but then not even a minute later pees on floor? He even had few times where he was mad about not getting his way and just peed, assuming he either lost control of his bladder or he did it cuz he was upset with us. Daddy said this morning too he asked him if he had to pee and he yelled NO!! and ran over to wall and peed

( So many many many times we've asked him if he has to go and he says NO but then goes anyway. Is this just normal or are these signs maybe hes not ready? My DH wants to take him to a buffet pizza place for lunch as a treat for the hard work hes been doing these last few days but i told him he should keep the undies on then...and bring change of clothes and pray for no pee. i just dont know if he can handle an outing like that yet but i guess we have to try. We've been setting a timer for every 15 mins and then telling him lets go try potty....with many times telling him to let mommy and daddy know if he has to go.....he's only ACTUALLY let me know twice in the last three days and that was right before bedtime when lights were out...after we had already gone and tried...mainly as a stall tactic...but just so happened that he actually went. But other than that he hasnt once told us...I HVE TO GO POTTY. To show they are ready should they be asking this? I'm just wondering if he's not ready yet or if being its only day 3 in...that we just need to keep being persistent and keep trying and eventually he'll start telling us he has to go potty. I'm afraid to send him to daycare tomorrow. Would love to send him in undies, and should probably call her or have a chat tmorrow morning before he goes what to do, cuz not sure that she'll be able to monitor him so closely or ask him all the time to go...because I m guessing with how this weekend has gone, hes not gonna let her know when he has to go......what to do......?

Re: Scratching head with 3DPT
I was in the same boat. Tried the 3DPT, and I just decided to give it up. It was too exhausting for me and too much pressure for DS, so we decided to take a break. I still don't really know whether DS doesn't want to do it, or doesn't know how to do it...but I guess it dosen't matter. The bottom line is that he's not interested enough - if being bribed with matchbox cars, candy, cookies and praise isn't going to do it, I'm not sure what will!
Talked it over with my pedi yesterday and he said the average age for boys to be potty trained is 3. He also said that more parents have success when they start with poop. He said once LO "gets it" with poop, pee will follow. (This cracked me up, because its EXACTLY what my mom told me too.)
Anyway, we are going to try my pedi's suggestion and see if it works for us because the 3 Day method definitely did not work for us.
Good luck to you!

One suggestion is, don't ask if he needs to go. Tell him that it's time to go and take him.
If he continues to throw a fit and screams, don't force him. Maybe he's just not ready.
