The challenges for me lately have been that DD's growth spurt has clearly ended and her eating has dropped dramatically, and all of the pretty & tasty summer fruits are gone and now we're left with apples and grapes. Bo-ring!

I've been dying to make a hotdog octopus for a long time! And no, we don't normally have hotdogs in the house, but it was so worth it for this cute little guy. You cut the hotdog before boiling it and the legs curl right up. Served on a bed of veggie fried rice, green beans "seaweed" and black olives. DD was particularly impressed that the octopus actually had 8 legs.

Super-fast lunch! A sandwich round PBJ with a cut-out/sprinkles. The Archer Farms freeze-dried strawberries are a favorite treat.

Way too much food (a month ago DD would have finished this). The hotdog bun is spread with peanut butter, a banana is put inside as the "hotdog" and it's topped with strawberry jam. She thinks these are hysterical! Checkered apple, cherry tomatoes, black olives and strawberries.

Bird on a tree. Triple-decker open-faced quesadilla with sprinkles and carrot details, plus some beans for spreading on it. Apple slices (she ate the other half of the apple when I was prepping lunch) and dried strawberries.

Those are adorable bright.  Love the birdie on the tree!  Mine is a dinosaur theme lunch:

I found a dinosaur sandwich punch/cutter at the dollar store and I couldn't pass it up.  It cuts 1 sandwich into 2 dinosaurs with very little waste except the crusts.  Perfect.  I also used a small dinosaur cookie cutter to make dinosaur cheese shapes.  Sliced grapes and sliced apples.  I so hear you bright about all the good summer fruits being gone and all that's left is grapes and apples.  Looks like that's exactly what I used, lol!
