Cloth Diapering

Stupid fleece liner questions...

LO is apparently ridiculously prone to diaper rash.  We have had him in sposies for a week while using non CD friendly diaper cream..it has finally cleared up but we have been told by our pedi that we should use it after every diaper change - so I bought some fleece to make liners so that we can go back to cloth (yay). My questions are this:

1)how do you wash your fleece liners? I know they can't be washed with the CDs so that the cream doesnt cause repelling issues with them - do you do an entire wash cycle for just the liners? seems kind of a waste.

and 2) if diaper cream causes repelling/absorbancy issues with CDs won't it do the same thing to the fleece liners? Once I use the cream with the liners and wash won't they now be affected by the cream and cause my diapers to leak?

 TIA!

  • a. You can wash them with a load of towels.

    b. The fleece liners aren't for added absorbency but to keep baby's bottom dry so it shouldn't cause your diapers to leak as the inserts haven't been in contact with the cream.

Have you tried a CD friendly cream?
