Concerned-possibly scared

I'm basically 14 wks/ 2nd tri but had some light spotting this morning...

Should I wait to contact the OBGYN or is this serious enough to merit a call today?

Update Monday, 11/8 ~noonish

I waited to call the OB because I had no other spotting nor any other signs (no cramping) and convinced myself it was nothing. Today the nurse said I need to come in ASAP so we're on our way in an hour...I'll keep you posted. Thanks everyone!

...As if all the stuff on the internet didn't scare me enough (the first 8 pages I Googled re: "spotting during second trimester"), now the nurse has me slightly concerned about the urgency & she said I'd have to do bloodwork (blehck).

Update Monday, post-OB visit

Thank God!

The baby is fine and I'm fine (or rather, will be completely after a round of antibiotics). The Dr ordered an ultrasound so he could measure/hear/etc. so it was really neat to see LO. Unfortunately the tech couldn't really tell this early (14 wks) but she thought it might be a boy just didn't really know for sure. I'm just thankful it's a healthy baby!

Also, FWIW the OB said it's not "normal" to have bleeding/spotting in the 2nd or 3rd trimesters (well, unless it occurs post-intercourse) BUT that it was okay that I waited to call since I didn't have any additional bleeding nor did I have cramps. Before the ultrasound I was beating myself up thinking about how I shouldn't have waited to call but thankfully everything's okay Big Smile
