Will I want to have pants on for the way home from the hospital if I have a c-section? I'm only concerned because we live two hours away from the hospital, and am afraid it might get uncomfortable around the incision. Maybe I would be better off just leaving in a gown with a thick robe? Can anyone offer some advice from experience? Thanks!
Re: Going Home outfit after C-Section?
this is exactly what i did. i wore maternity yoga pants from old navy. i was very comfortable to ride home since the waist is soft and non-restrictive and sat above my incision.
and yes, you still bleed after a c-section.

The loosest pants you can find. I am going to try to find a warm gown and robe though. I kind of hated pants the first couple weeks!
I don't plan on having a c-section this time, but just in case!
Also, you bleed PLENTY!
I went home in my maternity clothes. It was july- I wore maternity shorts and a t-shirt, and was ok.
I will take nigh gowns to wear in the hospital, only because last time they kept checking me, and I don't want to have to deal with pants everytime they come to check me. But, other than that, I think jammie pants would be comfy to wear afterwards, too.
This time I will bring yoga pants and a sweatshirt to wear home.
I'd have to look at pictures because I can''t remember what I wore home either time. But I 'think' it was black maternity yoga pants with #2 and something similar with #1 as well! We had doctors appointments the first week post c-section and I do remember not having issues with any of my mat clothing. I don't recall wearing jeans, but anything stretchy and soft. My incision never really bothered me with either though so I'm hoping that I won't have issues this time either!

I wore yoga pants home after my c-section. I would just make sure that they are comfortable, not too tight, and that the band won't rub on your incision. (Typically, the incision is so low that shouldn't be a problem.) I plan to wear yoga pants or sweat pants home again this time too.
I know my car ride home wasn't comfortable, and it was only 20-25 minutes. I held the lap belt away from me the whole time and tried to brace myself for bumps. You may want to check with your OB to see if they have a recommendation (from a comfort perspective) for traveling that long on your way home from the hospital.
As a note, I did have an emergency c-section with #1, and I've heard that scheduled c-sections are much better in terms of recovery.
