Just curious - VBAC risks are always talked about in the books, etc, and usually with the nice percentages, but I was wondering if I could find something more substantive about risks of the ERCS. I've always deemed the VBAC to be safer, mainly because a 1% or so risk of rupture seems smaller than all of the risks that are mentioned in the c/s - especially when you factor in all the risks that are increased in any later pregnancies. I'd actually like to know, and frankly, go in armed for my eventual required OB consult.

Re: Does anyone have good info on statistical repeat c/s risks?
Thanks - NIH? Sorry - Google was less than helpful.
Thank you - and my apologies... I typed it in wrong... *head desk*
I sure would love to know this info as well!! DH and I were just talking about it-there are lots of risk for vbac--but then again, lots of risk for c/s. They always make the VBAC risks appear good--but the reality is if something does go wrong--it's VERY wrong. But same can be true of the c/s---ugh. I hate this decision-making!

Notes:
There might be some info on here, which is a more user-friendly version of the NIH recommendations:

and I don't have the time to find good links, but one of the risks of having repeat c-sections is the chance of placenta accreta goes up - it looks like there's some good links with googling "placenta accreta repeat c-section"
